Titanium Series - Rodimus Prime

Rodimus Prime... a leader who never truly reached his full potential. The hype leading towards the coming of this character was rather lack luster as he was better off as Hot Rod. But when he first made his debut at the end of the 86' animated "Transformers - the Movie", he looked rather cool and was full of promises. An era where Optimus Prime is no longer the leader of the Autobots... what will the future holds?? The possibilities are endless...or so we thought LOL.

The writers of season 3 of the US G1 Transformers series truly screwed up when they portray Rodimus as a sucky leader who is often more hard headed than wise.... Impulsive instead of being cautious and wise. He's everything Optimus prime isn't and it was probably because of this reason that the Transformers series popularity starts to wane in the late 80's.

I guess the writers of the series had to try to pull a rabbit out of the hat by bringing back optimus Prime from the dead as a last desperate attempt to revive the popularity of the series. Poor Rodimus... what a heavy burden, he was indirectly responsible for the death of the Transformers US series n popularity... much like how Hot Rod was indirectly responsible for the death of Optimus prime in Megatron's hands :P

Ok.. enuf with the history lessons... now lets get to the toy. To many TF fans... the 6" Titanium Series - "Rodimus Prime" is a prayer answered and well overdue!!!

Finally a toy of "Rodimus Prime" that does it justice as opposed to the incredibly FUGLY G1 vintage version.

The figure is ingeniously designed much like the 6" Titanium "Ultra Magnus" figure. There are no unnecessary extra kibbles aside from it's rifle/weapon while the trailer is part of the entire figure upon transforming to bot mode.

Arise... RODIMUS PRIME!!!

The bot mode is a refreshing welcome compared to the incredibly stiff n ugly looking G1 counterpart. The joints generally offers a satisfactory array of articulations including an articulated waist allowing more dynamic poses.

Final Verdict:

A definite must have for fans of Hot Rod n Rodimus Prime... especially if u appreciate just how well designed this figure is and the best part is... it's so incredibly simple yet so very effective. The 6" Titanium series gave us some of the best designed bots and some of the most wanted characters made into toys... yet ironically, it died and I truly wonder why... because I really love this series.

Rodimus Prime and Ultra Magnus are among the most sought after figures in this series and hunting em down at retail price is virtually impossible now.

So if u happen to stumble upon one with a reasonable price tag..
...GRAB IT IMMEDIATELY!!!

Maturing Prematurely...

Brothers In Arms...

Adversaries...

Adversaries... Reprise.
... light our DARKEST HOUR!!!...
... This is the end of the road Galvatron!!!

Ok guys.. that's it for 6" Transformable Titanium Series - Rodimus Prime... Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did blogging about it :p

Cheers!!!
